The new HTC One M8 is one of the best smartphones launched in 2014, and is better than the iPhone and GS in many ways, but the company still needs to put extra effort to convince those who have been using Samsung and Apple devices. LG G series, Sony Xperia series, Motorola, ZTE, and Blu phones become known to many people and their new phones were quite nice as well.

New Android is coming – Android 4.4 KitKat Preview

Sources say that Android 4.4 will be released on the 14th of October, with many changes in graphics and also some improvement in performance. What are the major updates and what will be improved? Let’s find out.

1. OPTIMIZATION IN LEGACY DATA

The new Android will be built on Linux 3.8 kernel. It will require less memory, and the apps will run smoothly even with 512MB of Ram. 2. HOLO THEME WILL BE GONE

In the new android, you will not be able to find the holo theme in the color category.

Guide: Few ways to maximize your smartphone’s battery life

Have you ever been in panic mode when your phone is out of juice and dead when you need to use it?
Is the battery of your smartphone already low in the afternoon even though you fully charged it in the morning?
I’m pretty sure most of you experienced similar situations. 
Unfortunately, the battery technology has not been developed as fast as mobile technology being rapidly developed. 

Though, it’s not the end of the world for your phone.
Here are some tips to extend your smartphone’s battery life.

1. Dim Your Screen Brightness
Obviously, dimming your screen will reduce the power consumption.
Keep in mind, that the screen is the part that consumes most of your phone’s juice.

2. Stay Cool
Many people already know that leaving the smartphones in the heated car may cause poor battery life.
This is actually true; higher temperature causes to reduce the battery’s overall quality.
This doesn’t mean your battery will be in better condition if you live in North Pole or South Pole, but keeping your phone away from heated locked up car will definitely help your phone’s battery life. 

3. Don’t worry about overcharging. 
Most smartphones use lithium-ion batteries nowadays. This means you don’t have to worry about partial charge. When many cell phones used to use nickel-cadmium batteries, they needed to be fully charged / fully used several times to obtain maximum capacity(for the battery actually indicated and remembered the length of the charging time and etc.), but the lithium-ion is smart(?) enough to prevent itself from overcharging(after the full charge, phone does not charge/use the battery, but convert the device into a ‘connected’ mode), so partial/over charging is not a major problem anymore.

4. Turn off the features you don’t use.
When you don’t use Bluetooth, GPS location service, or Wi-Fi, TURN THEM OFF because your phone uses more power to seek for those features. Plus, use Airplane mode when you are in poor-signal area.

5. Use a battery case or external battery charger.
If your battery consumption is more than others or your battery is too old, get a battery case. There are many choices of battery cases in the market. Do you have more than just one smartphone? Guide: How to Apply a Screen Protector Perfectly

Like you care about your own car – especially its resale value in the future, protecting your phone is important, for when the time comes and you decide to sell your phone, good conditioned used smartphone can get up to 70% of its original value.
The back cover and other parts can be replaced with not so much money involved, but the LCD screen is the most expensive part of your phone, and you don’t want it to be all scratched up.

Think of the screen protector as an insurance for your expensive phone screen.. some very cheap insurance, right?
Let’s say you decide to buy one and try to put it on your phone, there might be some issues when applying one: bubbles, finger prints, alignment prob., etc.

iPhone 5 was used in this Guide; the screen is all dirty now. Let’s clean it first.
(sorry about bad drawing XD)

I’m using the attached microfiber towel to clean the screen.
(All of the screen protectors we sell include this handy towel inside the bag.)
Make sure there’s no finger print nor dust left on the screen.

Looks very clean now, we’re ready to put the film on to the screen.

Peel off (1)film carefully, and do not touch the sticky part of the protector.

Peeling off the (1)film….

Hold only the side of the protector and make sure the film is perfectly aligned around the home button.
(it takes time, so be patient and be really careful when doing it)

If you found some dust, use a piece of scotch tape to remove it beforehand.
DO NOT USE YOUR FINGER.

Film is clean, the screen is clean, so I’m being very careful aligning the film before putting it onto the screen.

LANDED! I see some bubbles, but thankfully, it’s not caused by the dust.
Using a credit card or a plastic applicator, push out the bubbles slowly but firmly.

Pushing out the bubbles to smooth out the surface.

Now is time for peeling off the (2)film, which will expose the actual screen protector itself.

Again, this is not a race, so take enough time and do everything slowly.

DONE!!

Now, put your case back on for a complete protection 🙂
